The first full description of the relationship between diabetes and frailty was presented at the 52nd Annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) in Munich, Germany earlier this month.
Professor Alan Sinclair, Director of Diabetes Frail, gave an invited lecture in front of at least 1,000 delegates attending the meeting.
Professor Sinclair emphasised the key importance of preventing frailty which is a pre-disability state, and gave practical advice on detection, assessment and management of the frail older adult.
